Our journey started in Nantong, a quiet Chinese town unfamiliar to many, with the Yangtze River and hills not far away.

In our family's garment factory, we dedicated ourselves to excellence, carefully overseeing everything from organizing materials to the final stitch. By taking on Japanese clothing orders through trading companies, we not only sharpened our craftsmanship but also absorbed invaluable industry wisdom, feeling firsthand the incredible strength of collaboration.

Indigosea is born

Indigosa emerged from the dual inspiration of a passion for historic workwear and military uniforms and the legacy of a family workshop. Zhang Shuai and Kang Xiaorui co-founded the company in Pittsfield, MA, in February 2025.
